2024 Earth Day Theme: Planet vs. Plastics
This year, all of us are asked to unite in creating a plastic-free future. Not only are our oceans, our land and our wildlife being affected by plastics, plastic pollution is directly affecting our own health. According to EARTHDAY.ORG, health costs in the United States alone, have increased more than $250 Billion due to chemicals in plastics. You may not realize it, but we absorb, ingest, and breathe plastics daily. Take the Plastics and Human Health Quiz at EARTHDAY.ORG. You can take action by participating in HSSV’s own plastic pickup April 20 – 28. Paper bags will be available in the break room to collect plastics from outside our facility and the surrounding neighborhood. Email a photo of yourself and your bag of plastics to hr@hssv.org to earn a raffle entry for gift cards ranging from $25 to $50. Please dispose of your plastics by placing them in the proper garbage or recycle bins in back parking lot.
